MonsterDraft’s online draft guide provides information to help you be successful in your fantasy football draft. The following are definitions to help you understand the different columns.
HC/PS–Some players have back-ups who have proven themselves. To protect yourself against possible injury to your starter you may want to draft his backup as a "handcuff" (HC). Other situations are tenuous for the starter and there is a good chance he may lose his starting position to his backup. Potential starters (PS) who might replace your starter are listed here. Approach drafting players who stand a good chance at losing their starting position with caution.
Value - Players value based on selected baseline on input page.
Projected Fantasy Pts – The calculated fantasy points for each player based on MonsterDraft’s projections and your league’s scoring format.
‘08/’07 Index – MonsterDraft maintains player actual information from last year as well as projections for the current year. Based on your league’s scoring format, MonsterDraft calculates projected current year fantasy points and actual prior year fantasy points. This column shows the current year projected points as a percentage of last year’s actual. An index greater than 100 projects better expected results in the current year than last year’s actual results. An index less than 100 projects less favorable projected results in the current year than last year’s actual results.
Consistency Index – MonsterDraft has measured each player’s consistency for last season. Each player’s fantasy points were calculated for each of the 17 NFL games from last season. Each player’s fantasy points for each game were then compared to the season’s average for lowest starter at each position assuming 12 teams starting 1 QB, 2 RB’s, 3 WR’s, and 1 TE (the 12 th QB, 24 th RB, 36 th WR, and 12 th TE). This calculation is based on a standard scoring format. The number of games that each player scored more than the season’s average for the lowest starter (in other words they were good enough to start in the league that week) is divided by the number of weeks a player played last season. An index of 100 would indicate that a player always scored more than the worst starter scored on average in this hypothetical league. An index of 0 would indicate that a player never scored more than the worst starter scored on average in this hypothetical league. Note that this index does not measure time lost to injury, suspension, etc. Instead, it only measures performance for those games actually played in.
Fade Index – MonsterDraft has calculated each player’s late-season performance compared to the rest of the season for last year. Each player’s average fantasy points scored for the last 5 games of last year were divided by the average fantasy points scored for the previous 12 games. An index greater than 100 indicates that a player performed better for the last 5 games than he did for the first 12 games. An index less than 100 indicates that a player performed at a lower level for the last 5 games than he did for the first 12 games. In addition to diminished performance at the end of the season, this index is impacted by injury, suspension, starting status, etc.
ADP – Average Draft Position is the round and pick number that each player was drafted at on average across all drafts conducted at MyFantasyLeague.com. This ADP data doesn't factor in your specific league scoring and should be used as a general guide only.
